Revisiting the mass- and radius–luminosity relations for FGK main-sequence stars

چکیده
Scaling relations are very useful tools for estimating unknown stellar quantities. Within this framework, eclipsing binaries ideal goal because their mass and radius known with a good level of accuracy, leading to improved constraints on the models. We aim provide empirical as function luminosity, metallicity, age. investigate, in particular, impact metallicity age those relations. used multi-dimensional fit approach based data from DEBCat, an updated catalogue binary observations such mass, radius, effective temperature, gravity, metallicity. {PARAM web interface Bayesian estimation parameters, along with} evolutionary code MESA estimate age, assuming coeval hypothesis both members. derived radius-luminosity-metallicity-age using 56 stars, {with range -0.34<[Fe/H]<0.27 0.66<M/M{_\odot}<1.8}. With that, observed reproduced accuracy 3.5% 5.9%, respectively, which is consistent other results literature. conclude that including increases quality fit, particularly terms compared radius. On hand, authors have noted, we higher dispersion relation than propose due effect.

Revisiting Hipparcos data for pre-main sequence stars
We cross-correlate the Herbig & Bell and Hipparcos Catalogues in order to extract the results for young stellar objects (YSOs). We compare the distances of individual young stars and the distance of their presumably associated molecular clouds, taking into account post-Hipparcos distances to the relevant associations and using Hipparcos intermediate astrometric data to derive new parallaxes of ...

A discussion of the FSRQ – BL Lac unification. All distinctive features marking these two Blazar subclasses find an unifying explanation if the sources are powered by central engines constituted by similar Kerr holes, but fueled at high and low accretion rates, respectively. The connection need not be a genetic one, but evidence toward some FSRQs switching into BL Lacs at lower z will be provid...
متن کاملThe Rotation of Low-Mass Pre-Main-Sequence Stars
Major photometric monitoring campaigns of star-forming regions in the past decade have provided rich rotation period distributions of pre-main-sequence stars. The rotation periods span more than an order of magnitude in period, with most falling between 1 and 10 days. Thus the broad rotation period distributions found in 100 Myr clusters are already established by an age of 1 Myr. The most rapi...
متن کاملOn the post main sequence expansion of low mass stars
The post main sequence expansion of stars is investigated by means of a simple composite configuration: an isothermal He-core (allowing for non-relativistic electron degeneracy) is surrounded by a H-envelope of constant density (polytrope n = 0). Solving the equations of hydrostatic equilibrium for fixed values of total mass and temperature at the interface a one dimensional sequence of models ...
متن کاملKey Words: STARS: BINARIES — STARS: CIRCUMSTELLAR MATERIAL — STARS: PRE-MAIN SEQUENCE — STARS: MASS LOSS
Binary stars are important for a full understanding of stellar evolution. We present a summary of how predictions of the relative supernova rates varies between single and binary stars. We also show how the parameter space of different supernova types differs between single and binary stars. We then consider an important question of how to infer a supernova progenitor’s properties from pre-expl...
